Britax Marathon ClickTight Car Seat Review

Convertible car seats are heaven-sent for most babies and parents. They not only provide your child with extra comfort but they also help keep your child in place on a long road trip. Babies who are usually 1 year old or older could benefit from a forward-facing seat, but how about infants?

This is where convertible car seats come to play since they can be converted into either rear-facing or front-facing. And thus, we came to review the Britax Marathon ClickTight Car Seat just for you.

Features of the Britax Marathon ClickTight Car Seat

Below are the helpful features you may find from this car seat:

1. Reclining features. You get a total of 7 recline positions with this car seat, which can be very helpful if your child wants to relax.

2. Adjustable harness. With its comfortable 14-position harness, your child can feel at ease without a lot of discomforts, since you can reposition the harness in any way that you want. It would be a plus point if your child wants to sleep throughout the trip – other baby car seats may not have a good reclining feature like this one.

3. Size accommodations. Since it is a convertible car seat, you get two sets of weight limits. The baby car seat can accommodate children from the following weight brackets (on their two modes):

Mode Weight limit
Forward-facing 20 to 65 lbs.
Rear-facing 5 to 40 lbs.

4. Side impact protection. It has good crash-proof qualities such as the side impact protection, which can be helpful if you ever encounter any road accident (fortunately not!) with your little kid.

5. Steel frame. The steel frame can help keep the seat sturdy for long-term use and can also keep it protected for your child whenever unfortunate things happen or traffic accident strikes.

6. Shock-absorbing base. Aside from the side impact protection, we also like its impact-absorbing base, which can further protect your child.

7. Easy installation. You can just install the car seat much like how you buckle up using its ClickTight system. Unlike other baby car seats, this one is quite easy to install and this means more time for you to get on the road or take care of your baby.

8. Different colors. The car seat is available in a myriad of colors and shades for you to choose from. There are patterns such as cow prints, dotted lines, polka dots, and so much more.

Pros and Cons

Here are the pros and cons of the Britax Marathon ClickTight Car Seat

1. Awesome security features. We totally liked the side impact protection and the shock-absorbing base since it can potentially protect your little one in case you’re in a bumpy ride or got involved in a bad traffic accident with someone. The sturdiness of the design can also somewhat guarantee your kid’s safety in a car.

2. Easy adjustment. The belts and the whole seat are a no-fuss adjustment due to the ClickTight design as well as the harness features.

3. Lots of cute designs. We also liked the fact that there are many designs to choose from for this car seat. This could be a plus point for you if you like child items that have a specific design to them. Or, you can also use the colors to match your interior design for your car or vehicle.

4. Extra padding. The added padding on the seat can save your baby’s butt for hours upon hours of sleeping, napping, or just sitting throughout the trip.

5. Reclining features. The reclining feature is just awesome – there are many ways to recline it so your baby or child can feel relaxed throughout the trip in just the way they want it!

6. Durability. We think that the steel frame is a plus point. Not all baby car seats have a durable design. If you prefer something that doesn’t have to be too lightweight yet can stay on the base of your car seat location, this one will do. This would also appeal to you if you prefer buying a car seat that can be used for many years.

1. May not appeal to very small kids. There are instances that when a child is too small, the shoulder belts could be a bit hard to adjust.

2. Lack of a head cushion. While it has extra padding at the bottom, it doesn’t exactly have a head cushion at the top.

To wrap it up, the Britax Marathon ClickTight Car Seat looks to be a great car seat that can accommodate both babies and toddlers with its steel frame, durable design, side-impact protection, and adjustable features. Sleeping on it can also be a breeze due to the reclining feature. Despite its cons, we think you’ll like this convertible car seat!
